Conference Honesty, Trust, Unity: Academic Integrity & Education in a Globalized World

On February 1-4, 2021 representatives of Foreign Affairs and Development Office at Akaki Tsereteli State University participated in a special conference Honesty, Trust, Unity: Academic Integrity & Education in a Globalized World on the topic of Academic Integrity in the RELO Kyiv region (Ukraine, Moldova and the Caucasus). The aim of the conference is to open a discussion about the history and future of academic integrity in Eastern Europe and to share practical approaches for building a culture of academic integrity, both at the classroom and administrative level. The conference was organized by the Regional English Language Office (U.S. Embassy) in partnership with TESOL-Ukraine, the English Teachers Association of Georgia, and International Black Sea University.

The Head of Foreign Affairs and Development Office Professor David Gegetchkori and the Coordinator of International Projects Development and Management Unit Tamta Demetradze presented the experience of Akaki Tsereteli State University (Kutaisi, Georgia) as a partner university in the Erasmus+ CBHE project Academic Integrity for Quality Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Institutions in Georgia (INTEGRITY) and suggested activities that can be introduced at different levels at HEIs to promote and enhance academic integrity and deal with plagiarism.
Three exceptional plenary speakers of the Conference were: Yana Chapailo (Project Coordinator, Academic Integrity and Quality Initiative, American Councils for International Education), Dr. Nikoloz Parjanadze (Affiliated Professor at International Black Sea UniversityTbilisi, Georgia), and Dr. Irine Darchia (Higher Education Reform Expert (HERE), Erasmus+ National Office Georgia)
